There's been a lot of interest in HD wedding videography lately and some are still confused about what to expect in an HD wedding video. Since there's all different kinds of formats and the choice of Standard Definition DVD or HD Blu-Ray Disc.
Basically SD video shoots in a square size screen like you are familiar with on your older TV sets. HD shoots in a rectangle size screen like the newer HD TV sets.
Also since HD is 1080i, or 1080p or 720p it has more information, at least double the resolution of SD video. So the picture is going to look sharper and crisper, especially when viewing it on a blu-ray DVD, on your blu-ray player. But even if you shoot in HD, edit it in HD and transfer it to an SD DVD, it still will look better than a straight SD video.
Is it worth the extra investment? That's really for you to decide. We have very reasonably priced HD packages that are very affordable starting at $1095. As well as our SD packages starting at $750. So if it's in the budget to go HD it is well worth it, but if not don't feel bad, we can still do a great job shooting in SD. It just depends how much you want to spend and how into the HD wedding video you are. Bottom line having your wedding on video is the key, and something no one has ever regretted doing.
